New Delivery Options for SAP BTP ABAP Environment: Multitenant SaaS Solution and Add-On Product

SAP BTP ABAP Environment now offers two delivery options for commercial partners: Multitenant SaaS Solution and Add-On Product. The Multitenant SaaS Solution is a service offering, while the Add-On Product is a software offering available for customers to install and operate in their own SAP BTP ABAP Environment systems. The SAP Store is the marketplace for partner solutions delivered as an Add-On Product. A prerequisite for the new software delivery option is a SAP PE Build contract for the partner.

The Add-On Product, on the other hand, is a software offering that customers can install and operate in their own SAP BTP ABAP Environment systems. This option is suitable for larger customers who require more comprehensive enhancements and developer extensibility. The partner provides the solution as software, and the customer installs and operates it. The marketplace for partner solutions delivered as an Add-On Product is the SAP Store [1].

A prerequisite for the Add-On Product delivery option is a SAP PE Build contract, which provides partners access to resources, services, and benefits to successfully collaborate with SAP. This contract also allows partners to publish solutions in the SAP Store, enabling customers to consume the products through them [1].

To support partners in developing and building Add-On Products, SAP offers free access to SAP Build test, demo, and development (TDD) licenses. This comprehensive suite of low-code, code-first, and generative AI tools enables partners to create custom Joule skills and agents, applications, automations, and digital workspaces. This new offering allows partners to innovate at a low initial cost and bring new solutions to market more quickly [2].

Both delivery options allow partners to offer the same product as a Multitenant SaaS Solution and as an Add-On Product to different customers, providing a hybrid approach to meet various customer requirements. This flexibility enables partners to cater to both small and large customers, expanding their reach and potential revenue streams.
