Daily Corporate Dividends on Jan 7 2025

The dividend capture strategy continues to be a popular approach among day traders, despite risks. Today saw dividends range from $0.10 per share (CRCT) to $2.00 (LSTR), with payments scheduled from Jan 6 to Jan 31, 2025. Investors are advised caution as share prices can fall post-dividend announcement, potentially eroding profits.

The dividend capture strategy is a popular income-focused stock trading strategy among day traders. Unlike traditional approaches, this strategy involves frequent buying and selling of shares for a short period of time, aiming to capture the stock's dividend payment. It is a simple strategy that does not require complex analysis or charting. Investors purchase shares before the ex-dividend date and sell them on or after that date. They do not have to hold the stock until the pay date to receive the dividend payment. However, if the stock falls more than the dividend paid, the net profit will be reduced. In this case, waiting for the stock to rebound to the purchase price before selling may be a wise decision, although there is a risk of further decline.
