D3 Global, a leader in DomainFi infrastructure, has announced a significant development in the domain industry. The company has unveiled a $1 million USDC grant program aimed at supporting developers building on the newly launched Doma Protocol public testnet. This initiative marks a pivotal moment in integrating the $360 billion domain industry with blockchain technology, transforming domains into real-world assets (RWAs).
The Doma Protocol testnet launch includes two key initiatives: the Doma Forge developer ecosystem program and the Doma testnet app for domain investors. The Doma Forge program, backed by D3’s $1 million USDC grant, offers developer-in-residence opportunities and technical resources to accelerate innovation in the DomainFi space. This program is designed to bridge existing Web2 domains (such as .com, .xyz, and .ai) with future Web3 extensions (like .solana, .anime, .ape, and .shib), creating a global, interoperable marketplace for domains. This marketplace will unlock liquidity and utility across browsers, applications, and Web3 wallets.
Doma Forge is a builder-first program that provides developers with the tools and resources needed to build decentralized applications (DApps) using Doma’s robust infrastructure. Key components of the program include access to a $1 million USDC developer grant pool, a developer-in-residence program, open APIs and SDKs, community enablement, and ecosystem integrations. These integrations include major Web3 ecosystems such as Solana, Base, Avalanche, Animecoin, Celestia, and Viction. The program aims to foster a vibrant network of Web3 users and builders, supported by venture capital partnerships like Paradigm and Coinbase Ventures.
Inder Singh, VP of Product & Technology at D3, highlighted the significance of Doma Forge, stating that it serves as a catalyst for developers to build the next generation of DApps on Doma. The program leverages the $1 million USDC grant fund, technical resources, and integrations with Solana and Base to reshape domains as digital assets across Web3 ecosystems.
The Doma testnet app, accessible at start.doma.xyz, enables domain investors to trade tokenized domains as liquid, composable assets in a decentralized marketplace. The app supports onchain domain synchronization, fractional ownership, lending and trading, and global reach, providing exposure to over 400 million crypto wallets and users. This app will allow investors to test these features with tokenized versions of existing domains and future Web3 extensions, creating a seamless bridge between the existing internet and Web3 ecosystems.
Fred Hsu, CEO & Co-Founder of D3, emphasized the transformative potential of Doma, stating that it bridges tokenized domains across Web2 and Web3, empowering investors and developers to reimagine domains as digital real estate for the global DomainFi economy. The Doma Protocol ensures interoperability, ICANN compliance, DeFi utility, and a global marketplace, connecting investors, builders, and users in a decentralized ecosystem.
DomainFi redefines the domain industry by transforming over 364 million domains into liquid, composable assets. The Doma Protocol ensures seamless functionality across websites, email, and Web3 wallets and marketplaces, while maintaining trust and compatibility with global domain standards. The protocol enables lending, fractionalization, and yield generation for domains, with integrations with Solana Record Service, Base, and other ecosystems to drive mass adoption of tokenized domains across major Web3 ecosystems.
To access the Doma Testnet, domain investors can explore the Doma Testnet application at https://start.doma.xyz/. Developers can apply to Doma Forge at https://doma.xyz/forge for grants and technical resources, with priority consideration given to applicants before July 31, 2025. The community can follow @DomaProtocol on X and join the Doma Discord for updates, AMAs, and testnet campaigns. Partnerships can be explored via https://www.doma.xyz.
