CVS Health has announced that updated 2025-2026 flu vaccines are now available at CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations nationwide. Patients can make vaccination appointments through CVS.com, MinuteClinic.com, or the CVS Health app, with walk-in appointments also accepted. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, annual flu vaccination is the best way to reduce the risk of contracting the flu and its complications.
CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) has announced the availability of updated flu vaccines for the 2025-2026 season at CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations across the United States. The announcement comes as part of an ongoing effort to enhance public health services and ensure that Americans have access to the most effective preventative measures against seasonal illnesses.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone ages six months and older receive the updated flu vaccine, ideally in September or October. CVS Health is making it easy for patients to schedule their vaccinations through CVS.com, MinuteClinic.com, or the CVS Health app, with walk-in appointments also accepted. This initiative aligns with the CDC's guidelines and aims to reduce the risk of contracting the flu and its potentially serious complications.
In addition to flu vaccines, select CVS Pharmacy locations in 38 states are offering a 3-in-1 combo test that allows patients to be tested for Influenza A, Influenza B, and COVID-19 using one swab. This comprehensive testing option is particularly beneficial for individuals seeking to manage multiple health concerns simultaneously. In states where pharmacists are authorized to both test for and treat COVID-19 and flu, patients can be tested and assessed for antiviral treatment in one appointment.
CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations offer more than 15 of the most common vaccinations, including flu, COVID-19, RSV, shingles, and hepatitis B. Patients who receive any CDC-recommended vaccine at CVS Pharmacy will also receive a $10 off $20 coupon to use on in-store purchases. ExtraCare members who have opted into rewards at the pharmacy will receive $2 in ExtraBucks Rewards for each CDC-recommended vaccine received.
The announcement follows recent restrictions by CVS Health and Walgreens regarding who can receive COVID-19 booster shots in certain states, as a key CDC vaccine advisory panel has not yet provided recommendations. Amy Compton-Phillips, Chief Medical Officer of CVS Health, emphasized the importance of preventive vaccinations, stating, "With so much conflicting information available, it can be hard to decide if vaccinations are the best way to help keep you and your family safe and healthy. Studies consistently show that preventive vaccinations are not only safe, but also the most effective way to protect yourself from seasonal illnesses."
