Crypto Whale 50X Hyperliquid Identified as British Cyber Criminal

ZachXBT, a prominent investigator in the crypto community, has identified the mysterious 50X Hyperliquid whale as William Parker, a British cyber criminal known for his extensive history in fraud, hacking, and casino theft. Parker, who was previously known as Alistair Packover, has been linked to a series of highly leveraged trades that resulted in approximately $20 million in profits.

Parker's trading activities, which involved using up to 50x leverage on decentralized perpetual futures platforms like Hyperliquid and GMX, have drawn significant attention. Leveraging means borrowing funds to increase the size of a trading position, and in Parker's case, even a small favorable price movement could result in substantial gains. For instance, a 2% price swing in his favor could translate into a 100% gain on his original investment.

Parker's strategy involved opening large positions in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether during volatile market moments. He timed his trades to coincide with significant events, such as the White House Crypto Summit and the Bitcoin reserve saga, which created rapid market movements. These conditions allowed him to capitalize on big events or sudden price changes, further boosting his gains.

Parker's massive trades also had an impact on the market, forcing other traders into liquidation. When a trader's position is liquidated, the system sells its assets at a loss to cover the borrowed funds, which can disrupt the market. Despite the high risk associated with using 50x leverage, Parker managed his trades carefully, resulting in reported profits of around $20 million.

Parker's criminal background includes an arrest in 2023 for allegedly stealing around $1 million from two casinos. Even after serving time, he continued his illicit activities, using phishing scams and other techniques to acquire funds, which he later leveraged in high-stakes crypto trading.
