Cryptocurrency hacks reached an unprecedented level in February, with a total of 20 incidents resulting in losses exceeding $15.1 billion. This figure represents the highest monthly loss on record for the digital asset sector. The most significant breach occurred at Bybit, which accounted for a staggering $14.3 billion in losses, making it the largest hack in the past five years.
The month also saw other notable security breaches, including Infini with losses of $49.5 million, zkLend at $9.66 million, and Ionic and SujiYan with $8.6 million and $4 million lost, respectively. These incidents highlight the urgent need for stakeholders to prioritize security measures in the cryptocurrency sector, as interest in digital assets continues to grow.
