Zhitong Finance learned that CrowdStrike (CRWD.US) announced on Wednesday that it would acquire Adaptive Shield, a SaaS security company. Although the financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, it is expected that the acquisition price will be mainly paid in cash, including a portion in the form of stock subject to grant conditions. However, according to media reports, CrowdStrike will pay about $300 million for the Israeli company. According to customary closing conditions, the proposed acquisition is expected to be completed in CrowdStrike's fourth fiscal quarter.
Through this acquisition, CrowdStrike will become the only cybersecurity provider to offer unified end-to-end protection across the entire modern cloud ecosystem, defending against identity-based attacks. As an integrated component of the CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform, Adaptive Shield will provide the company with advanced capabilities to stop identity-based attacks in all aspects of the modern hybrid cloud environment.
CrowdStrike CEO and founder George Kurtz said: "With the growth of SaaS and AI applications, each new application brings additional complexity and the risk of human and non-human account configuration errors, creating opportunities for complex attacks. Through the acquisition of Adaptive Shield, CrowdStrike will continue to set the standard for identity-based cloud protection from the Falcon platform with best-in-class SaaS protection."
