Credit card spending in India has seen a 15% YoY growth in September 2025, driven by the festive season and GST rate rationalization. Private banks led the way, with HDFC Bank recording the highest per-card spend, followed by ICICI Bank. HDFC Bank saw a 2.8% YoY increase in per-card spending to Rs 23,959.8, while SBI Card saw a strong 33.5% YoY increase to Rs 18,892.3.
