Corn futures surge 2-4 cents as crop conditions improve, rains expected in Corn Belt

Corn futures are trading up 2 to 4 cents at midday on Tuesday, with the front-month national average cash corn price at $3.89 1/2. Crop Progress data shows the US corn crop at 34% silking and 74% good/ex. Rains are expected to be widespread next week, with much of the Corn Belt seeing 1 to 3 inches.
