Core Scientific, a leading provider of blockchain infrastructure and services, has announced the appointment of Jim Nygaard as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Vice President. Effective March 17, Nygaard will succeed Denise Sterling, who has held the position since the company's inception.

Nygaard brings nearly three decades of experience to his new role, with a strong background in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Since 2008, he has served as Managing Director and Head of M&A at XMS Capital Partners, where he has been instrumental in driving strategic growth and value creation for clients.

As CFO, Nygaard will be responsible for leading Core Scientific's financial operations and strategy, working closely with the executive team to drive the company's continued growth and success in the rapidly evolving blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape.

Core Scientific's CEO, Mike Levitt, expressed his confidence in Nygaard's appointment, stating, "Jim's extensive experience in M&A and finance makes him an ideal fit for our team. We are excited to have him on board as we continue to expand our offerings and solidify our position as a leader in the blockchain infrastructure space."
