Copper Demand Soars 20% as Data Centers Expand

In a recent address at the 2025 Asia Energy Forum, Daniel Yekin, the deputy chairman of S&P Global and the founder of the Cambridge Energy Week, highlighted the pivotal role of copper in supporting the rapid expansion of data centers worldwide. Yekin noted that the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence (AI) has created unprecedented demand for electricity, consequently driving up the demand for natural gas.
