Constellation Energy Stock Surges on Acquisition Talks

Constellation Energy Group (CEG) is reportedly in talks with the federal government to address antitrust concerns over its acquisition of Calpine, a peer electric company. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has been considering whether to block the sale on antitrust grounds. The DOJ's sign-off is the final regulatory hurdle for the completion of the $16 billion-plus deal. CEG's stock rose 2% on Thursday after the news broke.
