Constellation Energy Corp. is in settlement talks with the US Justice Department to close its $16.4 billion acquisition of Calpine Corp. The deal would create the country's largest power fleet. The DOJ had concerns about competition in power markets, but the companies offered to divest four power plants in Pennsylvania and Delaware. They are now negotiating the sale of additional plants. Justice Department clearance is the last remaining hurdle before the deal's expected closure by year-end.
