Colombia's Vanti Ordered to Lower Gas Prices, Refund Excess Charges to Customers

Colombia's Superintendencia de Servicios Públicos Domiciliarios ordered Grupo Vanti, the country's largest gas distributor, to adjust prices and refund excess charges to affected households. The regulator found that Vanti's 5% price increase in January and 36% increase in February were unjustified, as the company had sufficient domestic gas reserves to meet essential demand. The agency ordered Vanti to recalculate the tariff and refund 100% of the excess charges collected.
