Several major global banks, including BBVA, Santander, BNP Paribas, Citi, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan, have launched a cash tender offer to buy Colombian sovereign bonds. The banks aim to hedge potential obligations under total return swap transactions with Colombia, which is seeking to borrow up to $10 billion in Swiss francs to repurchase costlier liabilities and ease debt service. The tender offer runs until September 3, with settlement scheduled for September 8.
