Coinbase Unveils Base App, Integrating Social, Chat, Payment, and Trading Features

Coinbase, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, is revamping its primary application to integrate social, chat, payment, and trading functionalities into a unified platform. The company has announced that its application, previously known as Coinbase Wallet, will be rebranded as Base App. This transformation comes as the Base blockchain, launched by Coinbase approximately two years ago, has gained increasing significance, generating millions of dollars in revenue and becoming a core component of the company's payment strategy. Jesse Pollack, who has been leading the development of the Base blockchain, joined Coinbase's executive team and was appointed as the head of Coinbase Wallet.
