Coinbase survey: Over 75% of institutional investors plan to increase crypto asset allocation by 2025.
According to a recent survey conducted by Sygnum, the global digital asset banking group, institutional investors are increasingly bullish on the future of cryptocurrencies. The survey involved over 400 respondents, primarily banks, hedge funds, multi- and single-family offices, DLT foundations, funds, and asset managers. A staggering 83% of these investors are already 'crypto-activated,' meaning they currently invest in cryptocurrencies [1].The survey revealed that 57% of institutional investors plan to increase their long-term crypto allocations, while 65% expressed a bullish outlook for the future of these digital assets [1]. This high-risk appetite and growing trust in cryptocurrencies could lead to a significant increase in allocations in the coming years.
The sentiment among institutional investors could "quickly turn" more bullish in 2025, followed by increased allocations beyond 2025, when sentiment becomes "overwhelmingly bullish" [1]. The crypto market is expected to establish a stronger foothold in the traditional finance sector.
However, the survey also noted mixed short-term outlooks. Some investors plan to monitor the markets and evaluate new developments, while others expressed concerns regarding geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic instability.
These findings are consistent with other recent surveys. For instance, a report by Cryptonews revealed that 63% of institutional investors plan to allocate more funds to cryptocurrencies in the next 3-6 months [2]. This increase in allocations could contribute to the continued growth and mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.
