Coeur Mining Secures BC Court Approval for New Gold Acquisition

The Supreme Court of British Columbia has approved Coeur Mining's takeover of New Gold through a court-sanctioned plan of arrangement. The transaction, expected to be finalized in H1 2026, assigns New Gold an equity value of approximately $7bn and a combined market capitalization of around $20bn. Post-transaction, Coeur shareholders are expected to own around 62% of the new entity, while New Gold shareholders are expected to hold 38%. Production is forecast to reach around 1.25 million gold equivalent ounces in 2026.
