CleanSpark, a Las Vegas-based bitcoin miner, is expanding into AI data centers by developing facilities alongside its crypto-mining business. The company recently won a 100-megawatt site in Cheyenne, Wyoming, beating Microsoft for the contract. CEO Matt Schultz attributed the win to CleanSpark's ability to quickly deploy a mining facility, which can take years to build a proper AI data center. The company plans to use its mining operations to rapidly build out infrastructure and then convert it to high-performance computing and AI.
