Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (CLNE) has secured multiple renewable natural gas (RNG) supply and infrastructure agreements with transit fleets and municipalities. The deals aim to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable fuel solutions. LA Metro, The Rapid, Trinity Metro, and BJCTA are among the major collaborations. New developments include RNG fueling stations and maintenance for fleets in Texas, Virginia, and more.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (CLNE) has announced a series of significant agreements with transit fleets and municipalities across the United States to transition their vehicles to renewable natural gas (RNG). These deals, aimed at reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable fuel solutions, include collaborations with major players like the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), The Rapid, Trinity Metro, and the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA).

LA Metro, one of the largest transit agencies in California, has signed a new maintenance agreement with Clean Energy for several fueling locations. The stations will fuel over 940 natural gas buses and will supply 11.5 million gallons annually. This deal extends Clean Energy's existing relationship with LA Metro, which is one of its largest RNG users in California and carries nearly 1 million commuters daily on a fleet of low-emission buses [1].

The Rapid, a transit agency in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has entered into an RNG supply deal with Clean Energy. The agreement includes the supply of 1.1 million gallons of RNG annually and Clean Energy will also provide operation and maintenance services for the fueling sites. This deal is part of The Rapid's commitment to growing its natural gas bus fleet in the next five years [1].

Trinity Metro, the public transportation provider for Fort Worth and surrounding cities in Tarrant County, Texas, has signed an RNG supply agreement with Clean Energy. The deal will provide approximately 2.1 million gallons of clean-burning RNG for its bus fleet. Clean Energy was selected as the winning provider in a competitive bid, extending its existing maintenance relationship with Trinity Metro to include RNG supply [1].

The Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) in Alabama has signed an RNG supply deal with Clean Energy to use an anticipated 950,000 gallons of fuel for 96 transit buses. Clean Energy also has a maintenance agreement with the agency to oversee their fueling site [1].

Clean Energy is also building a new fueling station for Loudoun County in Virginia under a new agreement. This will help the county achieve its goal to grow its current natural gas bus fleet from 2 to 120 as they transition to cleaner alternative fuels like RNG. In addition to the new station, Clean Energy will be modifying existing bus maintenance facilities to accommodate the growth [1].

These agreements demonstrate Clean Energy's commitment to decarbonizing transportation through the development and delivery of RNG. The company operates a vast network of fueling stations across the U.S. and Canada and has RNG production facilities at dairy farms [1].
