Claynosaurz Expands to Sui Blockchain for New Features

Claynosaurz, an NFT-driven entertainment brand initially established on the Solana blockchain, is expanding its operations to include the Sui blockchain. This strategic move was announced during the Token2049’s Sui Basecamp event, where Claynosaurz CEO Andrew Pelekis detailed the company's plans to leverage Sui's technology for a range of new features and launches.
The expansion follows an earlier announcement in March that Claynosaurz would utilize Walrus Protocol, a decentralized storage platform developed by core contributors to Sui, as its backend infrastructure. This decision sets the stage for Claynosaurz to introduce a variety of experiences that capitalize on Sui's technological capabilities.
According to Pelekis, the move to Sui is not about abandoning Solana but rather about broadening the scope of interactive digital IP. "We’re not moving chains—we’re expanding to shape the future of entertainment," he stated. "Sui offers a scalable, flexible foundation that empowers us to build entertainment products that feel frictionless, immersive, and rewarding—whether you're a seasoned Web3 user or brand new to NFTs."
The original Claynosaurz NFTs will remain on Solana, while new expansions and features will be introduced on Sui. Claynosaurz founder and Co-Creative Director Nicholas Cabana emphasized that the Genesis collections will always reside on Solana, preserving their provenance. However, future expansions tied to new experiences will be developed on Sui.
One of the key features set to debut on Sui is the achievements system, an ecosystem-wide rewards engine that recognizes engagement across gameplay, collecting, and creative contributions. While Claynosaurz’s Solana-based NFTs will still be integrated, the badges themselves will be minted on Sui. This system also includes “soft staking,” allowing holders to earn rewards from both Solana and Sui assets.
This month, Claynosaurz will launch Popkins, a 25,000-character expansion on Sui that introduces a new species into the Clayno universe. Unlike traditional mints, Popkins will be available through themed booster packs containing digital perks such as shop discounts and in-game cosmetics. Each pack offers a chance to catch a Popkin, but the outcome is not guaranteed, adding an element of surprise and excitement.
In 2025, Claynosaurz plans to release its first mobile game for iOS and Android, with eventual support for the SuiPlay0X1 gaming handheld. The game will feature real-time creature battles and rich world-building, designed to appeal to both casual players and those familiar with Web3 mechanics. The blockchain layer will be abstracted for casual players, ensuring a seamless gaming experience while still integrating Web3 elements behind the scenes.
The move to Sui is driven by both technical ambition and community growth, aiming to create the most epic and engaging on-chain experience through storytelling, gameplay, and collectibles. The full mint mechanics, distribution, and pricing for the new features are expected to be revealed soon.
