South Financial News reporter Wu Shuang reports from Shanghai

On September 4, Citigroup announced that Achintya Mangla has joined Citigroup as Global Investment Banking Head of Financing, effective September 4.

It is known that Achintya has rich global experience. He has worked at Morgan Stanley for more than 22 years, most recently as Global ECM Head at Morgan Stanley. During his 22-year tenure at Morgan Stanley, Achintya held key positions in multiple asset classes and worked in Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa and the United States.

In his new role, Achintya will report to Vis Raghavan, Head of Global Banking at Citigroup, and will be responsible for Citigroup's global debt capital markets (DCM), equity capital markets (ECM), syndicate and private placement capital markets, providing capital market advisory and financing strategies to public and private clients. Citigroup's current Global DCM Head Rich Zogheb and Global ECM Co-Head Douglas Adams and James Fleming will continue to hold their respective positions and report to Achintya.

According to Citigroup's global website, Vis Raghavan also joined Citigroup in February this year from Morgan Stanley, where he had worked for more than 20 years. He previously served as Global Investment Banking Head at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, since 2020, Vis Raghavan served as Co-Head of Global Investment and Corporate Banking at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, he was appointed Head of Investment, Corporate Banking and Capital Markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2012. In addition to his global banking responsibilities, he also served as CEO of Morgan Stanley's Europe, Middle East and Africa region since 2017, working with the bank's senior officials and business heads to serve clients across all business lines in the region. He first joined Morgan Stanley in 2000 and held senior positions in global debt and equity capital markets.

Vis said about the appointment: "He is a proven leader with an outstanding track record in building and leading high-performance teams, delivering innovative, global-minded solutions for clients."

Achintya will also work closely with other departments of Citigroup, including the financial markets, wealth management and risk control departments, to help drive the company's private credit strategy and leverage the full power of the Citigroup platform to generate incremental alpha opportunities across asset classes.
