Citi has launched the Strata Elite Card, a high-end credit card with an annual fee of $595. The card offers points multiples for certain spending, a $300 hotel credit, and a $200 "splurge" credit at various brands. It competes with American Express' Platinum Card and JPMorgan Chase's Sapphire Reserve Card, both of which have higher annual fees. Citi's Strata Elite Card follows a similar formula to other banks with a "good, better, best" choice for customers.

Citi has recently introduced the Strata Elite Card, a premium credit card designed to cater to high-end customers. The card features an annual fee of $595, which can be reduced to $450 for Citi Gold customers and waived for the first year for Citi Private Client customers. The Strata Elite Card offers several benefits, including points multipliers for specific spending categories, a $300 annual hotel credit, and a $200 annual splurge credit at various brands.

One of the standout features of the Strata Elite Card is its points earning structure. The card offers 12 points per dollar spent on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked through Citi Travel, and 6 points per dollar spent on air travel booked through the same platform. Additionally, the card provides 6 points per dollar spent at restaurants during Citi Nights, which are defined as Friday evenings through Saturday mornings and Saturday evenings through Sunday mornings. For other spending categories, the card offers 1.5 points per dollar.

The Strata Elite Card also includes several complimentary benefits. Cardholders can enjoy up to $300 off a hotel stay of 2 nights or more once per calendar year when booked with Citi Travel. Additionally, the card provides up to $200 in statement credits on purchases from brands such as American Airlines, Best Buy, and Live Nation. Cardholders also receive up to $100 in private chauffeur credits with Blacklane each year.

Another notable feature of the Strata Elite Card is its ability to transfer points to various partners, including American Airlines, JetBlue, and Virgin Atlantic. This flexibility allows cardholders to maximize the value of their points by redeeming them for travel on their preferred airlines.

The Strata Elite Card also offers travel protection benefits, such as trip cancellation and interruption insurance, lost or damaged luggage coverage, and master rental coverage. Additionally, cardholders can access Priority Pass Select membership, which includes access to over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide.

In comparison to other premium credit cards, such as the American Express Platinum Card and the JPMorgan Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, the Strata Elite Card offers a competitive set of benefits. However, its annual fee of $595 is higher than the fees charged by these other cards. Additionally, the Strata Elite Card's points earning structure is less generous than some other premium cards, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, which offers 3 points per dollar on all purchases.

Overall, the Citi Strata Elite Card is a high-end credit card that offers a range of benefits to high-spending customers. Its points earning structure, complimentary benefits, and travel protection features make it a competitive option in the premium credit card market. However, its higher annual fee and less generous points earning structure may make it less attractive to some customers.
