Cisco Networking Academy and the Connected Conservation Foundation have launched the Protected Area Technician (PAT) Training Program to equip local communities with the skills to operate and maintain conservation technologies in protected areas. The program offers 10 free online courses covering topics such as sensor deployment, networking, off-grid infrastructure, and data management. PAT participant Razafinandrasana Gerard shared that the knowledge and skills gained are directly applicable to his fieldwork, research activities, and future career in biodiversity conservation.
