ProShares launched the Ultra CRCLCRCL-- ETF (CRCA), a 2x leveraged fund designed to amplify daily returns of Circle’s stock. The ETF debuted at $25 per share on Aug. 6 with a 1.08% expense ratio. ProShares CEO Michael Sapir highlighted the product as a tool for investors to leverage bullish positions on CircleCRCL-- without margin borrowing, though the fund is intended for short-term trading due to volatility decay risks.
Circle, issuer of the second-largest stablecoin USDCUSDC-- ($64.5 billion in circulation), continues to expand its blockchain infrastructure, including cross-chain transfer protocols and the upcoming Circle Gateway liquidity service. Regulatory clarity from the July GENIUS Act, which established a U.S. framework for payment stablecoins, has bolstered the firm’s market position. However, the stock’s sharp post-IPO gains have since moderated, reflecting broader market caution.
The strategy of purchasing the top 500 stocks by daily trading volume and holding for one day returned 166.71% from 2022 to the present, outperforming the benchmark by 137.53%. This underscores the significance of liquidity concentration in short-term performance, particularly in volatile markets.
