Cingular Allows Agreement to Sell Stake in Indian Wireless Service Provider to Expire.

Cingular Wireless, a joint venture between SBC Communications and BellSouth Corp., has allowed an agreement to sell its 32.9% stake in Indian wireless service provider IDEA Cellular to expire. The agreement, originally signed in December 2004, lapsed on June 11. Under the terms, AT&T Wireless was to sell the stake to a joint venture between Singapore Technologies Telemedia and TM International for approximately $200 million.
