Ciena Names Marc Graff as New CFO

Graff brings nearly 30 years of global finance experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), tax and trade matters, and accounting. His extensive background includes over nine years in Asia. Prior to joining Ciena, Graff served as Senior Vice President and CFO at Altera Corporation, where he was instrumental in executing the majority sale of Altera from Intel Corporation. Before Altera, he held executive finance roles at Intel, including CFO and Chief Operating Officer for Intel’s Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Group [2].
Graff holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and economics from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He said, "I'm excited to join Gary and the rest of the Ciena team to drive shareholder value, particularly through the opportunities presented by AI and data center workloads that require greater high-speed connectivity."
Ciena previously announced the retirement of James E. Moylan, Jr., Senior Vice President and CFO, effective August 28, 2025. Until that time, Moylan will assist in the transition of his responsibilities to Graff.
Ciena’s segments include Networking Platforms, Platform Software and Services, Blue Planet Automation Software and Services, and Global Services. The company provides network systems, software, and services to operators, enabling enhanced network capacity, service delivery, and automation.
