Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) has announced a strategic partnership with Zipline, the world's largest autonomous delivery system, to introduce Zipotle, a new service offering aerial delivery of digital orders. Starting today, select guests in the Dallas area can have their Chipotle orders flown directly to their homes using Zipline's autonomous aircraft, known as Zips. This early access program is set to expand to a broader audience in the coming weeks.

Zipotle leverages Zipline's zero-emission aircraft to deliver orders quickly and efficiently, keeping food fresh and reducing delivery times. The service operates seven days a week, initially from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT, with plans to extend the hours to 10 p.m. CT. The first Chipotle location to offer Zipotle deliveries is at 3109 Lakeview Pkwy, Rowlett, TX.

The partnership is part of Chipotle's ongoing mission to cultivate a better world by providing responsibly sourced, real food. Curt Garner, President, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Chipotle, commented, "Zipotle is a quick and convenient source of delivery that lets guests enjoy our real food from places that are traditionally challenging to serve, including backyards and public parks. Zipline's commitment to building an efficient, environmentally friendly delivery experience is synonymous with our mission to Cultivate a Better World."

Zipline's CEO and Co-Founder, Keller Rinaudo Cliffton, highlighted the innovation, stating, "With Zipline, you tap a button, and minutes later food magically appears - hot, fresh, and ultra-fast. Starting today, families in the Dallas area can have food delivered by Zipotle and served for lunch or dinner. What once felt like science fiction is soon going to become totally normal."

Zipotle's initial order capacity is up to 5.5 pounds, with plans to increase this to 8 pounds over time. The service is designed to be extraordinarily quiet and barely noticeable, ensuring that food arrives restaurant-fresh even in various weather conditions.

Zipline's extensive experience in autonomous delivery, having flown over 100 million commercial miles and completed over 1.6 million commercial deliveries, underscores its reliability and efficiency. The company has previously delivered medical products to rural hospitals in Rwanda and now serves more than 5,000 hospitals and health facilities worldwide.

This partnership is expected to enhance Chipotle's delivery capabilities, offering customers a more convenient and eco-friendly option. As Chipotle continues to innovate in digital and sustainable practices, Zipotle represents a significant step forward in its commitment to making its food more accessible while minimizing environmental impact.
