Chinese Concept Stocks | TSMC Begins A16 Production in US; JD Flat, NIO Falls 7%

On September 18th, Eastern Time (Wednesday), the major U.S. stock indices collectively closed lower. The S&P 500 fell by 0.29% to 5618.26 points; the Dow Jones dropped by 0.25% to 41503.10 points; and the Nasdaq decreased by 0.31% to 17573.30 points.

On September 18th, the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index fell by 0.86%.

Among popular Chinese stocks, JD rose by 0.00%, NIO fell by 7.02%, XPeng Motors dropped by 4.42%, Bilibili decreased by 2.05%, Baidu fell by 0.84%, NetEase dropped by 0.42%, Alibaba decreased by 0.30%, Pinduoduo fell by 0.15%, and TSMC dropped by 0.04%.

Continuously Rising Chinese Stocks: Global Lights increased by 0.48% for 13 consecutive days with a rise of 0.77% during the period. Bit Origin rose by 10.80% for 8 days with a 64.88% increase. Cheda Technology increased by 0.63% over 7 days with a 32.67% rise. Aurora rose by 2.07% for 6 days with an 18.89% increase. Great Qi Technology saw a 1.65% rise over 6 days with a 23.33% increase. Abits Group rose by 2.88% over 6 days with a 33.08% increase.

Continuously Declining Chinese Stocks: Mclouds fell by 7.76% over 7 consecutive days with a 34.42% drop. Nature Medicine decreased by 9.87% for 6 days with an 88.48% drop. Gaotu fell by 1.13% over 5 days with a 6.07% decrease. Four Seasons Education decreased by 5.70% over 5 days with a 20.22% drop. Senmiao Technology fell by 4.07% over 5 days with a 18.62% decrease. LianDai Technology decreased by 7.78% over 5 days with a 35.28% drop.

TSMC's U.S. Plant Begins Production of Apple's A16 with Yield Close to Taiwan's Level
TSMC has started small-scale production of Apple's A16 chips at its Arizona plant. Once the second phase of Fab 21's first stage is completed and operational, A16 production will significantly increase. The yield at TSMC's Arizona plant is currently slightly lower than that of the Taiwan plant, but the gap is minimal. It is expected that the yield of this plant will reach the same level as the Taiwan plant in the coming months.

ByteDance Responds to Reports of AI Chip Cooperation with TSMC: Reports Are Inaccurate
In response to reports about ByteDance planning to cooperate with TSMC on AI chips, ByteDance stated that the reports are inaccurate. ByteDance is indeed exploring the chip field, but it is still in the early stages, mainly focusing on cost optimization for its recommendation and advertising businesses, with all projects fully complying with relevant trade regulations.

"Meicheng" Once Processed Mooncakes for Dongfang Zhenxuan? Response Says Cooperation Occurred in 2022
Recently, the Meicheng mooncakes promoted by the live streamers under "Crazy Little Yang" and "Three Goats" have been caught in a false advertising controversy. Some netizens revealed that Guangzhou Meicheng Food Technology Co., Ltd. once processed mooncakes for Dongfang Zhenxuan. On September 18th, Dongfang Zhenxuan confirmed that in 2022, they did cooperate with Guangzhou Meicheng Food Technology Co., Ltd. on a flowy center mooncake, produced according to Dongfang Zhenxuan's product standards, with guaranteed quality meeting national standards. However, the price of this mooncake cannot currently be queried in the system. The mooncake products of Dongfang Zhenxuan are different in specifications, contents, and craftsmanship from those sold in other live streams. The staff did not know if the cooperation on mooncake products would continue in 2023 and 2024.

According to Tianyancha App, Ant Financial (Hangzhou) Network Technology Co., Ltd. has recently undergone a business change, with its name changed to Ant Intelligent (Hangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. Additionally, Ni Xingjun stepped down as the legal representative and executive director, succeeded by He Zhengyu. The company was established in October 2013 with a registered capital of 50 million RMB, and its business scope includes internet information services, enterprise management consulting, translation services, non-residential real estate leasing, and data processing technology development, consulting, and services. Shareholder information shows that the company is wholly owned by Alipay (Hangzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd.

Apple Reportedly Secures TSMC's Initial 2nm Capacity for iPhone 17 Pro Series
Industry sources indicate that Apple has secured TSMC's initial 2nm and subsequent A16 process capacity, with the 2nm capacity expected to be fully introduced in next year's iPhone 17 Pro.
