Chinese Concept Stocks | Nasdaq Golden Dragon Index Rises as Alibaba Buys Back Shares

On September 17th, Eastern Time (Tuesday), the major U.S. stock indices showed mixed results. The S&P 500 Index rose by 0.03%, closing at 5634.58 points; the Dow Jones Index fell by 0.04%, closing at 41606.18 points; the Nasdaq Index rose by 0.20%, closing at 17628.06 points.

On September 17th, the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index increased by 1.83%.

Regarding popular Chinese stocks, Bilibili rose by 3.20%, JD.com by 2.36%, Baidu by 1.56%, XPeng Motors by 1.51%, Alibaba by 1.33%, Pinduoduo by 1.21%, NetEase by 0.31%, NIO by 0.19%, while TSMC fell by 1.02%.

Companies experiencing consecutive gains include Phoenix New Media with a latest increase of 1.66%, maintaining a 7-day consecutive rise with a total increase of 21.83%. Bit Origin increased by 12.61%, also for 7 days, with a total increase of 48.81%. X Financial rose by 1.32% over 6 days, with a total gain of 8.24%. CooTek increased by 1.80% for 6 days, with a total gain of 31.83%. Ucloudlink increased by 3.73% over 6 days, with a total gain of 14.88%.

Companies experiencing consecutive declines include Huapu Group with a latest decrease of 3.99%, maintaining an 8-day consecutive decline with a total decrease of 63.25%. WiMi Hologram Cloud decreased by 6.81% over 6 days, with a total decline of 28.90%. Huize fell by 7.66% over 6 days, with a total decline of 21.63%. Nature’s Sunshine decreased by 14.13% over 5 days, with a total decline of 87.22%. GSX Techedu fell by 0.37% over 4 days, with a total decline of 5.00%. Hoth Therapeutics decreased by 20.51% over 4 days, with a total decline of 36.26%. iClick Interactive fell by 1.56% over 4 days, with a total decline of 3.37%. Four Seasons Education declined by 2.53% over 4 days, with a total decline of 15.40%. Senmiao Technology fell by 2.38% over 4 days, with a total decline of 15.17%. Liandai Technology decreased by 10.08% over 4 days, with a total decline of 29.82%.

The mooncake products have been removed from the Meicheng Tmall flagship store
The Meicheng mooncake Tmall flagship store currently shows that mooncake products have been removed, with only three types of snack gift boxes remaining. The customer service stated: "There is no stock of mooncakes." The customer service also mentioned that the Meicheng brand is registered in Hong Kong and has a trademark registration certificate, with brand origin and R&D team originating from Hong Kong, but Meicheng has set up marketing centers and production bases in Guangzhou and Foshan.

Apple may secure the first batch of TSMC's 2nm production capacity

On September 17th, Fliggy released the "2024 Mid-Autumn Holiday Travel Bulletin," showing that the total travel booking volume for the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival holiday has significantly increased compared to the New Year, Qingming, and Dragon Boat holidays, marking the highest point for three-day holidays this year. Among them, the average booking volume for domestic travel has increased by 5% compared to the Dragon Boat holiday. The growth rate of short and medium-distance "micro-vacations" is leading, with significant growth in intercity and inter-province high-speed rail and self-driving tours. Fliggy data shows that car rental bookings for the Mid-Autumn Festival have increased by 31% compared to the Dragon Boat holiday; domestic hotel bookings far exceed the same period in 2019, with high-star hotels and specialty homestays accounting for 60%.
