China's 2024 Key Publications Spotlight Hainan's Growth and Deng Xiaoping's Legacy

Recently, the Central Propaganda Department in China announced its list of key publishing selections for 2024, highlighting important themed publications. Among the chosen works are two notable titles from the province of Hainan—‘Interpretation of Hot Issues in Hainan Free Trade Port’ and ‘Xiaoping Path’.

‘Interpretation of Hot Issues in Hainan Free Trade Port’ delves into various facets concerning the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Compiled under the patronage of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the book offers comprehensive insights and answers to the 17 critical questions that surround the port's construction and operation.

‘Xiaoping Path,’ authored by the esteemed cultural scholar Zhu Hong, chronicles the unique work experiences of Deng Xiaoping in Jiangxi. It captures his profound reflections on China's reform, development, and socialist endeavors, revealing his enduring faith and noble perspectives during challenging times.

The selection process this year involved careful evaluation of 2,528 entries submitted by various regions and departments. Out of these, 171 key topics were identified for publication in 2024, with a distinctive focus on 151 book topics and 20 audio-visual electronic topics. These highlighted works will receive special funding support from the National Publication Foundation's Planning Management Office.
