The ministry's statement highlighted that the U.S. actions are not only detrimental to bilateral relations but also disrupt the global supply chain and technological advancements.
China's Commerce Ministry has taken steps to mitigate the impact of these restrictions. Following the Geneva talks, the ministry removed 28 U.S. firms from its dual-use export control list and pulled 17 American companies from another list. This move is seen as a reciprocal action to the U.S. restrictions and aims to balance the trade dynamics between the two nations.

with criticism from China, which views it as an overreach of U.S. authority and a violation of international trade norms. The ministry's response underscores China's commitment to protecting its technological sovereignty and ensuring fair trade practices. The global ban on Huawei's Ascend chips is part of a broader U.S. strategy to restrict the supply of advanced AI semiconductors to China. This ban extends beyond China, affecting other regions and countries that rely on these chips for their technological infrastructure. The U.S. has also restricted sales of advanced AI semiconductors to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, further complicating the global technology landscape.
China's response to the U.S. ban highlights the escalating tensions between the two superpowers in the realm of technology and trade. The ministry's actions and statements reflect a determination to safeguard China's technological advancements and maintain its position in the global market. The ongoing trade talks and technological competition between the U.S. and China will continue to shape the future of global trade and technological innovation.
