Chevron and its joint venture partners have approved a $2 billion investment to further develop the Gorgon natural gas project in Western Australia. The project will involve connecting two offshore gas fields to existing infrastructure and processing facilities on Barrow Island, as well as drilling six wells. Gorgon is the largest resource development in Australia's history, producing 15.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year.
