Charter and Comcast Secure Exclusive Mobile Network Deal with T-Mobile

Charter Communications and Comcast have secured a multi-year exclusive agreement with T-Mobile to provide mobile services to business customers across the US. The partnership will utilize T-Mobile's advanced network under a long-term Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement and is expected to enhance Charter and Comcast's prominence in both wireline and wireless services. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Charter Communications and Comcast have entered into a multi-year exclusive agreement with T-Mobile to provide mobile services to business customers across the United States. This partnership will leverage T-Mobile's advanced network under a long-term Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement, enhancing Charter and Comcast's prominence in both wireline and wireless services. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The agreement, set to launch in 2026, will allow Charter and Comcast to expand their wireless offerings supported by the nation's largest and fastest broadband and WiFi networks. Mobile services will be offered under the Spectrum Mobile for Business and Comcast Business Mobile brands, respectively.

Omar Tazi, T-Mobile's EVP and Chief Product and Digital Officer, stated, "T-Mobile is pleased to work with Charter and Comcast to deliver their U.S. business customers connectivity on the mobile network with more new customer growth than any other network over the past five years. Through their mobile businesses, Comcast and Charter have collectively grown to more than 18 million residential and business mobile lines since they introduced their services in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Charter and Comcast will continue to develop wireless business solutions using the best of in-home WiFi, out-of-home WiFi, proprietary 5G cellular networks leveraging CBRS spectrum, and now multiple MVNO cellular networks.

This new agreement will focus solely on providing wholesale mobile connectivity to Charter's and Comcast's business customers. Charter and Comcast's existing long-term MVNO partnership will continue to support residential and current business customers.

The partnership underscores how cable giants are seeking new growth opportunities by expanding into the business wireless market. As competition in broadband and pay TV intensifies, this strategic move highlights Charter and Comcast's efforts to diversify their revenue streams and stay competitive.
