Charter and Comcast have struck a multi-year deal with T-Mobile to use its network for mobile services, set to launch in 2026. The companies will offer business services under the Spectrum Mobile for Business and Comcast Business Mobile names, respectively. The agreement focuses on providing wholesale mobile connectivity to Charter's and Comcast's business customers, separate from their existing MVNO partnership for residential and current business customers.
Charter Communications and Comcast have announced a multi-year agreement with T-Mobile to leverage its advanced 5G network for mobile services, set to launch in 2026. The partnership will provide wholesale mobile connectivity to Charter's and Comcast's business customers under the Spectrum Mobile for Business and Comcast Business Mobile brands, respectively [1][2].
This strategic move comes as the cable giants seek new growth opportunities in the business wireless market. The agreement will focus exclusively on business customers, separate from the companies' existing long-term Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) partnership that supports residential and current business customers.
Omar Tazi, T-Mobile's EVP and Chief Product and Digital Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "T-Mobile is pleased to work with Charter and Comcast to deliver their U.S. business customers connectivity on the mobile network with more new customer growth than any other network over the past five years." He added that the partnership complements T-Mobile's existing offerings and expands its network reach to more business customers.
Edward Zimmermann, President of Comcast Business, underscored the value of the partnership: "Comcast Business delivers advanced, converged solutions to business customers by uniting the scale of our nationwide WiFi network, gig-plus speeds, and the integration of top-tier 5G mobile capabilities." He noted that the capital-light partnership with T-Mobile strengthens Comcast's growth strategy in wireless for business customers.
Danny Bowman, Executive Vice President of Product at Charter Communications, emphasized the benefits of the partnership: "Spectrum Mobile for Business offers a truly converged connectivity experience, combining gig-powered internet and superior WiFi service with a premium 5G mobile network." He stated that the collaboration will allow Charter to rapidly and cost-effectively bring more value to its business customers.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. However, the partnership is expected to enhance Charter and Comcast's wireless businesses, which have collectively grown to more than 18 million residential and business mobile lines since they introduced their services in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
This new agreement is part of a broader strategy by Charter and Comcast to expand their wireless offerings, leveraging their existing broadband and WiFi networks, proprietary 5G cellular networks, and now multiple MVNO cellular networks. The companies aim to provide exceptional value to their business customers through a combination of advanced connectivity solutions.
