ChargePoint has partnered with Porsche Consulting North America (PCNA) to integrate Porsche Charging Service into the ChargePoint network. The collaboration aims to improve the user experience and expand the charging network for electric vehicles. The partnership will leverage ChargePoint's extensive network and Porsche's expertise in electric mobility to enhance charging infrastructure for EV users.

In a recent announcement, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and ChargePoint, a leading provider of charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), have partnered to integrate Porsche Charging Service into the ChargePoint network ([1]). This collaboration aims to improve the user experience and expand the charging network for EV users, particularly for Porsche customers.

With this agreement, Porsche drivers will have access to over 100,000 charging stations across North America, combining the extensive network of ChargePoint and Porsche's expertise in electric mobility ([2]). Porsche's My Porsche app will enable drivers to easily locate and use charging stations, and pay for the charges accordingly.

Previously, Porsche had integrated the Electrify America charging network into its Porsche Charging Service, allowing customers to access over 75% of all J1772 and CCS1 charging ports across the US ([1]). This latest addition to the partnership expands the charging options further, enabling Porsche customers to charge their EVs more conveniently.

Although not all of the 100,000 charging stations will be fast-charging DC Fast (DCF) stations, this partnership is a significant step towards enhancing the charging infrastructure for EV users. According to recent reports, only a fraction of ChargePoint's over 100,000 charging ports are DCFast, and the high-power charging stations offered by ChargePoint are not yet widely adopted ([1]).

Looking ahead, Porsche plans to implement the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port for future products in North America, while exploring adapter solutions for its existing EVs to access the Tesla Supercharger network ([1]). These efforts demonstrate Porsche's commitment to improving the charging experience for its customers and contributing to the overall growth of the EV market.

In summary, the partnership between Porsche and ChargePoint is a notable development in the EV industry, aiming to expand the charging network and improve the user experience for EV drivers, particularly for Porsche customers. With over 100,000 charging stations available across North America and plans to implement NACS and Tesla Supercharger adapter solutions, this collaboration is expected to have a significant impact on the EV market.
