Five Charged with Kidnapping in Saskatoon, Demanding Ransom

Saskatoon police have arrested 5 people and charged them with kidnapping with intent to hold for ransom. Police located the vehicle and rescued the man, arresting the 4 other suspects who stayed in the vehicle. The 5 individuals, aged 21-29, have been charged with kidnapping with intent to hold ransom.

The incident occurred on July 24, 2025, when a man reported that his son had been kidnapped and was being held against his will in a vehicle. The suspects demanded a large sum of money for the son's release.

The father contacted Saskatoon Police after receiving a distressing call from his son. The son informed his father that he was being held captive and that the kidnappers were demanding a ransom. Police swiftly responded and located the vehicle in the 900 block of Weldon Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim and one of the suspects exiting the vehicle and walking towards a residence. The police intervened, securing the victim's safety and arresting the suspect who was with him.

Further investigation led to the arrest of four additional suspects who remained inside the vehicle. In total, four men aged 21, 24, 29, and 38, and a 29-year-old woman were charged with kidnapping with intent to hold for ransom.
