Chainlink has launched a new pricing mechanism called State Pricing, aimed at improving the accuracy of valuations for long-tail assets and tokens primarily traded on decentralized exchanges (DEXs). The initiative, announced on August 1, 2025, is designed to address key challenges in DeFi markets, including price manipulation, liquidity issues, and valuation inconsistencies [1]. By integrating on-chain liquidity data, State Pricing provides more reliable and transparent price feeds for tokens that may not be actively traded on centralized exchanges but maintain significant liquidity in decentralized markets [1].
The system utilizes two primary data delivery models: push-based data feeds, which provide continuous real-time price updates for protocols requiring ongoing information, and pull-based data streams, which allow users to request specific data points on demand [1]. This dual approach offers greater flexibility and precision, supporting a variety of use cases such as collateral valuation, trading strategies, and risk management in the DeFi ecosystem [1].
Currently, Chainlink State Pricing supports assets such as wstETH, GHO, LBTC, cbBTC, ezETH, and tBTC. These tokens were selected based on their notable on-chain liquidity despite limited trading volumes on centralized exchanges [1]. The platform plans to expand its asset coverage in response to user demand and evolving market dynamics [1]. This development is expected to enhance market efficiency on DEX platforms and improve overall resilience in the DeFi space [1].
The launch reinforces Chainlink’s role as a leader in
technology, with Sergey Nazarov and Daeil Cha of Chainlink Labs leading the initiative. By focusing on long-tail assets, Chainlink is strengthening the foundational infrastructure of DeFi and promoting greater transparency in the broader crypto market [1]. Analysts suggest that this innovation could drive increased adoption of DeFi protocols and influence trading volumes and liquidity, particularly for niche tokens [1]. As the DeFi landscape continues to evolve, Chainlink’s State Pricing mechanism is positioned to play a crucial role in shaping more accurate and reliable decentralized financial systems [1].Source: [1] Chainlink Launches State Pricing to Enhance Accuracy for Long-Tail Crypto Assets on DEXs (https://en.coinotag.com/breakingnews/chainlink-launches-state-pricing-to-enhance-accuracy-for-long-tail-crypto-assets-on-dexs/)
