Chainlink has launched real-time U.S. equities and ETF data streaming across 37 blockchain networks, marking a major step in the integration of traditional financial assets with blockchain infrastructure. The data, now available on-chain, includes pricing for major assets such as SPY, QQQ, NVDA, AAPL, and MSFT, offering low-latency feeds that power tokenized real-world asset (RWA) markets. This initiative is designed to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of DeFi platforms, enabling decentralized applications to utilize precise and up-to-the-minute price data for tokenized assets [1].
The deployment of real-time equity data across such a broad range of blockchains—spanning Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and others—highlights Chainlink’s emphasis on scalability and accessibility. DeFi protocols such as GMX and Kamino have already begun leveraging these data streams, signaling early adoption and reinforcing the infrastructure’s potential to drive liquidity and pricing transparency in decentralized markets [2]. The CEO, Sergey Nazarov, emphasized that the move supports the next generation of tokenized RWA markets by bridging traditional finance with DeFi applications [3].
The launch appears to have had a positive effect on Chainlink’s native token, LINK, which rose approximately 4% in the week following the announcement. Analysts attributed this movement to market recognition of the company’s ongoing innovation in decentralized
services and its strategic position in the expanding tokenized asset space [4]. The timing of the release aligns with a growing institutional and retail interest in RWA tokenization, further positioning Chainlink as a key infrastructure provider in the transition toward decentralized financial systems [5].Chainlink’s new Data Streams operate by securely transmitting real-time financial data from traditional markets into on-chain environments, ensuring high throughput and accuracy essential for smart contract execution and automated trading protocols. The inclusion of major U.S. equities and ETFs in the initial offering underscores a focus on liquidity and market relevance, as these assets are among the most actively traded globally [6]. The service is expected to facilitate more institutional-grade pricing mechanisms in DeFi, reducing reliance on centralized price feeds and mitigating potential risks associated with data manipulation [7].
This move follows Chainlink’s prior efforts in RWA tokenization, including on-chain treasuries and tokenized gold. However, the real-time equity data integration represents a new and significant advancement in the field. By providing compliant and accurate data from institutional-grade sources, Chainlink is helping to create a more secure and credible environment for investors in tokenized assets [8]. As DeFi protocols adopt this infrastructure, the potential for increased total value locked (TVL) and enhanced market participation becomes more tangible [9].
