CFTC Backs DOJ's Crypto Policy Shift, Focuses on Fraud

CFTC Chair Caroline D. Pham has voiced her backing for the Department of Justice's (DOJ) recent policy shift concerning cryptocurrency enforcement. This endorsement is part of a larger initiative to create a more cooperative regulatory landscape for digital assets. Pham has instructed the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to refrain from initiating lawsuits in cases involving the Commodity Exchange Act, instead concentrating on instances where there is clear evidence of fraud or market manipulation. The DOJ's policy shift, detailed in a memo from Deputy US Attorney General Todd Blanche, represents a notable change from previous administrations' strategies.
