Cerebras Systems, a chipmaker focused on artificial intelligence, raised $5.55B in its IPO, the largest of the year, with shares priced at $185, above the marketed range. The company is capitalizing on investor demand for AI semiconductors, which has been booming. The IPO marks a significant milestone for the company, which aims to revolutionize the field of AI.
Cerebras Systems, an artificial intelligence chipmaker, raised $5.55 billion in its initial public offering on May 13, 2026, marking the largest IPO of the year globally. The company priced its shares at $185 each, exceeding the previously marketed range of $150–$160. The offering included 30 million shares, up from the initial 28 million, reflecting strong investor demand for AI-related semiconductors.
The IPO follows a surge in demand for high-performance AI chips driven by the rapid adoption of generative AI technologies. Cerebras, which specializes in wafer-scale processors optimized for AI inference, has secured major clients such as OpenAI and Amazon, with a $10–$20 billion compute agreement with OpenAI and a planned deployment of its hardware in AWS data centers. The company's revenue has grown significantly, with fourth-quarter revenue reaching $510 million, up 76% year-over-year.
This offering represents Cerebras' second attempt to go public, having previously withdrawn its IPO filing in 2024 amid regulatory scrutiny over its relationship with UAE-based AI firm G42. The company has since diversified its customer base and secured regulatory clearance for its operations.
The IPO is led by Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Barclays, and UBS Group AG, with shares listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol CBRS. The offering underscores the growing investor appetite for AI infrastructure and highlights Cerebras' position in a competitive semiconductor market dominated by companies like Nvidia.
