Cencora agreed to acquire EyeSouth Partners' retina business for $1.1 billion, expanding its specialty medical arm. The deal will see EyeSouth's physicians join Cencora's management services organization Retina Consultants of America. The acquisition is expected to close after Cencora's fiscal year ends on Sept. 30 and be slightly accretive to earnings. Cencora has been building up its higher-margin specialty business line, including ophthalmology, which has seen strong volumes and contributions from biosimilars.
