Cellebrite Report Finds 97% of Respondents Name Smartphones as Primary Evidence Source

Cellebrite has released its 2026 branch trend report, based on 1,200 experts from 63 countries. 97% of respondents named smartphones as the primary source of evidence, a 24% increase from 2024. 95% believe digital evidence increases the investigation rate, but 94% say complexity increases the workload. 65% think AI can speed up investigations, but a third believe regulations will hinder its use. 42% accept cloud solutions, but two-thirds still use physical media.
