Cardano Stock Surges as Blockchain Partnership with SERPRO Boosts Brazil’s Public Sector Modernization
The Cardano Foundation has announced a strategic partnership with Serviço Federal de Processamento de Dados (SERPRO) to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology within Brazil’s public sector. This collaboration aims to modernize the public sector infrastructure by integrating blockchain technology, thereby enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government operations.
SERPRO, the world’s largest state-owned IT company, plays a crucial role in supporting 90% of Brazil’s federal government systems. The company manages over 750 digital solutions, handling 33 billion transactions annually, and oversees more than 30.4 petabytes of data across multiple cloud platforms. This partnership leverages SERPRO’s extensive expertise in public administration alongside Cardano’s advanced blockchain technology.
Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, highlighted the transformative potential of this collaboration. “Our collaboration with SERPROSER-- represents a transformative step in modernizing Brazil’s public sector infrastructure through blockchain education and technology,” Gregaard stated. This initiative is expected to benefit millions of Brazilian citizens by improving the efficiency and transparency of government services.
Education remains a key focus of this alliance. The Cardano Academy will provide SERPRO employees with in-depth blockchain training, including masterclasses, technical workshops, and certification courses. This program aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of blockchain technology and its applications in public administration.
Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim, President of SERPRO, emphasized the significance of this partnership. “By combining SERPRO’s extensive public sector expertise with Cardano’s blockchain infrastructure, we’re positioning Brazil at the forefront of digital government transformation,” he said. This collaboration marks the first instance in which SERPRO has teamed up with an international organization for educational initiatives, further solidifying Brazil’s commitment to digital innovation.
This partnership builds upon Brazil’s globally recognized digital governance framework, which ranks second worldwide in digital government maturity. The integration of blockchain technology is expected to further enhance Brazil’s digital capabilities, making it a leader in digital government transformation.
