Cardano Foundation and SERPRO Partner to Revolutionize Brazil’s Public Sector with Blockchain
Cardano Foundation, a Swiss-based non-profit organization dedicated to the development of the Cardano blockchain platform, has entered into a strategic partnership with Serviço Federal de Processamento de Dados (SERPRO), Brazil’s state-run IT firm and the government’s largest IT supplier. This collaboration, announced on March 6, marks a significant milestone in the integration of blockchain technology within the public sector.
SERPRO, one of the largest software firms in Brazil, will work closely with the Cardano Foundation to enhance Brazil’s digital infrastructure through blockchain solutions. The partnership aims to fortify the country’s digital framework, expand blockchain education, and encourage the integration of blockchain technology in government processes. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the adoption of blockchain in Latin America, leveraging SERPRO’s extensive experience and Cardano’s advanced blockchain ecosystem.
Through this partnership, serpro will introduce the Cardano Academy program to its 8,000 employees, with over 2,000 of them being developers. The program aims to expand knowledge and skills in blockchain technology, positioning Brazil at the forefront of digital government transformation. SERPRO Director-President Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating that it represents a major step forward in utilizing blockchain technology for public sector innovation.
Cardano Foundation CEO, Frederik Gregaard, highlighted the importance of collaborating with the government to modernize the public sector through blockchain applications. This partnership is expected to enhance transparency and service delivery in Brazil’s public administration. The collaboration follows Cardano’s previous partnership with petrobras, Brazil’s state oil company, in December 2023, which also focused on blockchain adoption and education through the Cardano Academy.
