Capitol Meridian Partners, Stellex Capital to buy Beaufort
Capitol Meridian Partners and Stellex Capital Management have agreed to acquire Beaufort, the aerospace and defense survival equipment division of Survitec. The deal, valued at an undisclosed amount, is part of a carve-out transaction that will see Beaufort operate as an independent company under new ownership.
Beaufort, based in Ellesmere Port, UK, specializes in survival equipment for air, land, and sea forces, serving the U.S. Department of Defense, U.K. Ministry of Defence, and other allied militaries. The company's product portfolio includes flight jackets, anti-G trousers, liferafts, submarine-escape equipment, and immersion suits. With 1,200 employees globally and seven manufacturing facilities across the US, UK, Germany, and Australia, Beaufort is a key player in the survival technology market.
The acquisition is expected to provide Beaufort with greater focus, capital, and industry expertise to drive innovation and strengthen its market position. Capitol Meridian Partners and Stellex Capital Management aim to pursue complementary acquisitions, expand the product portfolio, and deepen customer relationships.
Robert Kledal, CEO of Survitec, stated that the transition to new ownership positions Beaufort to execute its growth strategy with focus and discipline. Dom Cartwright, CEO of Beaufort, expressed his gratitude to Survitec and excitement for leading Beaufort as an independent company backed by investors with long histories in aerospace and defense.
Capitol Meridian Partners and Stellex Capital Management are well-positioned to capitalize on the accelerating defense spending worldwide. With a global footprint and embedded positions on critical programs, Beaufort is poised to benefit from these market dynamics.
The transaction was advised by Houlihan Lokey and Greenberg Traurig for Survitec, and Evercore and Latham & Watkins LLP for Capitol Meridian and Stellex.
