A U.S. Travel Association report forecasts a 3.2% decline in international tourism spending in the US for 2025, a loss of $5.7 billion compared to the previous year, largely attributed to a decline in Canadian visitors. The number of return trips among Canadians traveling to the US dropped by 27% for air travel and 35% for land travel in September compared to last year. This threatens thousands of jobs in the tourism sector, which is labour-intensive and a big employer in many states.
