Canadian Military Purchases 52-Unit Apartment Building in Courtenay to Address Housing Shortage

The Department of National Defence has purchased a 52-unit apartment building in Courtenay, B.C., to address a shortage of housing for military members. The complex is located near 19 Wing Comox and is expected to alleviate waitlists and housing shortages. The $19.1M purchase was initiated locally and involved collaboration across departments to fast-track the process. Families are expected to move in starting in 2026.
