Camp Network Secures $30M for IP-Centric Blockchain Infrastructure

Camp Network has successfully secured $30 million in Series A funding, led by 1kx and Blockchain Capital, with additional participation from OKX Ventures, Lattice, TrueBridge, Maven 11, Hypersphere, and others. This significant investment underscores the growing interest and belief in the potential of IP-centric blockchain infrastructure. The funding will support Camp Network's mission to pioneer the first autonomous IP layer-1 blockchain, designed specifically for intellectual property registration, provenance, and monetization.
Camp Network's unique approach sets it apart from existing blockchain platforms. Instead of retrofitting existing solutions, Camp has developed a protocol from the ground up to manage a wide range of IP assets, including patents, designs, and creative works. The platform offers onchain IP registration, allowing creators to timestamp and register their assets with tamper-proof records. Additionally, tokenized ownership enables digital certificates and tokens to represent fractional or full IP rights, streamlining licensing and secondary markets. The platform also includes AI-ready data pools, providing a dedicated infrastructure for training AI models on rights-cleared data, ensuring fair compensation for IP holders.
Technically, Camp Network introduces a novel consensus mechanism called Proof of Provenance. This mechanism cryptographically links each transaction to an immutable custody record, enabling low-energy validation by confirming state transitions through provenance data. This approach offers Byzantine fault tolerance, guarding against malicious forks. The platform's modular architecture supports isolated app chains for each project, allowing for customizable governance, fee structures, and upgrade policies. This design ensures high-volume registries run in isolation to prevent congestion, while a shared relay layer maintains interoperability, securely transmitting assets and messages across independent app chains.
Since its testnet debut, Camp Network has already attracted over 15 decentralized applications, including NFT marketplaces, licensing platforms, and AI data collaboratives. The project's roadmap includes a public mainnet launch in Q3 2025, with the first live IP licensing use cases in gaming and media slated for Q4 2025. By 2026 and beyond, the platform aims to fully release its AI-integration suite, enabling automated royalty distribution to IP holders.
Camp Network's focus on fair compensation and verifiable provenance positions it to encourage more IP-rich industries, such as biotech, publishing, and film, to explore blockchain as a foundational infrastructure. The successful capital raise and ambitious technical blueprint mark a pivotal step toward an ecosystem where intellectual property lives natively on chain. As testnet activity grows and the mainnet nears, Camp Network will test the viability of a blockchain purpose-built for the next era of IP creation, sharing, and monetization, paving the way for genuine decentralization of a trillion-dollar asset class.
