Caliber Properties (Nasdaq: CWD), a diversified alternative real estate and digital asset platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Current and InCharge Energy to deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across its extensive real estate portfolio. This collaboration aims to enhance sustainability and drive asset performance through innovative solutions.
The partnership, which is expected to break ground at numerous Caliber properties in Phoenix, Arizona, will provide commercial charging and energy solutions. InCharge Energy, the industry leader for design-build EV charging infrastructure, will design, construct, and install EV charging sites. In addition, InCharge's InService™ offering will provide ongoing service, maintenance, and on-demand repair for all-brand chargers, supported by InControl™ charger maintenance software.
Current, a leading EV infrastructure investor and developer, will support the deployment of advanced EV charging infrastructure. This collaboration builds on Current's mission to lead the transition to a sustainable energy future and its previous initiatives in California, Texas, and Arizona.
Chris Loeffler, CEO of Caliber, commented on the partnership, stating, "We are pleased to partner with InCharge Energy and Current, two experts in electrification and energy savings. This collaboration will deploy advanced EV charging infrastructure, develop rideshare hubs, and enhance energy efficiency measures across our hospitality, multifamily, and industrial properties, building the desirability and operational efficiency of our assets. By reducing energy costs and attracting high-value tenants and guests, these amenities are expected to drive meaningful profitability improvements while supporting sustainable practices that benefit our investors and communities alike."
Cameron Funk, President and Executive Board Chair of InCharge Energy, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, "We’re proud to collaborate with Caliber, a world-class real estate investor and developer, to create additional value across their portfolio by constructing autonomous and rideshare hubs, installing future-ready, sustainable EV charging and energy efficiency options to help maximize returns for their investors."
Pip Decker, CEO of Current, noted the increasing recognition of embedded amenities in hotels and commercial properties, particularly among rideshare users. The partnership aims to support this trend by expanding access to EV solutions nationwide.
This initiative is part of Caliber's broader strategy to enhance the desirability and valuation of its commercial holdings through technological and sustainability advancements. The partnership is expected to accelerate Caliber's strategic technological and sustainability advantage, contributing to long-term profitability improvements.
